Marlene J. Hoy

Marlene J. Hoy, 73, of Rockford, passed away on Sunday, August 20, 2017. Marlene was born in Chicago on July 26, 1944; to parents, Leonard and Jeanette (Tyminski) Maslanka. She married her loving husband, Thomas Hoy in North Riverside, Illinois on April 26, 1969. Together, Marlene and Thomas spent many years together before his passing in 1998. She loved being a grandmother and spending time devoted to her family. Marlene will always be remembered for her kind and loving nature, and her family will never forget her influence in their lives.

She is survived by her children, Kathy (Gene) Iturbide of Stillman Valley, and Michael Hoy of Hudson, New York; mother, Jeanette Maslanka; grandchildren, Paige and Jackson Iturbide; siblings, Barbara (Scott) Entler, Leo (Karen Caliendo) Maslanka, and Kevin (Jodi) Maslanka; nephews, Eric Entler, Kyle Entler, Jason Entler, Kris Entler, Jeremy Maslanka, and Kourtney Maslanka. Marlene is predeceased by her father, Leonard Maslanka in 2007; husband, Thomas Hoy in 1998; sister, Tina Maslanka in 1973.

A private memorial service at Mt. Emblem Cemetery Chapel, in Elmhurst,IL, will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation.
