Marlene J. Davis

Marlene J. Davis, 84, of Rockford, peacefully passed on Thursday, July 7, 2016 to join her Lord and Savior, after an 11 year battle with cancer. She was born on October 14, 1931 in Rockford, the daughter of Eben and Edna (Stonewall) Johnson. She graduated from East High School in 1950. On November 20, 1953, she married Charles A. Davis. Marlene was an avid traveler, particularly to Aruba each year with her husband. She attended Heartland Community Church, enjoyed reading, golfing, and spent many years volunteering at OSF St. Anthony. Above all, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

She is survived by her children, Lori Udell, Steven (Sandy) Davis, and Greg (Pam) Davis; her grandchildren, Andy (Liz) Udell, Karla (Josh) Yates, Bryce Davis, Marissa (Matt) Nyberg, Kristin (Eric) Ewalt, and Joe Davis; her great grandchildren, Luke and Olivia Udell, Jaxon and Griffin Yates, and Grant and Will Nyberg; her dear friend, Maxine Stromdahl; and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband, Charles, her brother, Wayne Johnson, her parents, and son in-law, Mark Udell.

A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, July 11, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Mulford Chapel. A visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until time of service. Inurnment private. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family to be determined at a later date appreciated.
