Marjorie (Marnie) H. Karazin, 96, Loves Park, passed away Saturday, April 21, 2018, at Presence St. Anne Center. She was born in Steward Township on May 26, 1921, the daughter of J.W. and Mary (Neely) Harris and was the youngest of 4 children. She attended a one room rural school until entering Pecatonica Community High School, graduating in 1938. She graduated from St. Anthony School of Nursing in 1942, and was employed at Illinois Research and Education Hospital in Chicago before entering the U.S. Army Nurse Corps where she served for 3 years during WWII. Marge married Andrew Karazin in Toulon, IL on July 21, 1950. They celebrated 55 years of marriage before he passed away on October 27, 2005. She retired from Warner-Lambert Company in 1983, after 26 years as their health nurse. Marge was a 50 year member and Past Matron of Loves Park chapter of the Eastern Star, enjoyed bowling and golfed countless rounds with Andy at the area courses.
Predeceased by her parents, her husband, 2 sisters, 1 brother and 5 Boston Terrier canine companions. Marge was thankful for the friendship and support she received from Carol, Barbara, Kris, and Jay, who graciously included her in their busy lives. Special thanks to the staff at Presence St. Anne Center and Northern Illinois Hospice Care for all of the care and kindness they provided Marge.
