Marjorie "Marge" G. Elliot

Marjorie “Marge” G. Elliot, 86, Rockford, passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2023. She was born on March 8, 1937, in Oak Park, the daughter of Emil and Kathryn (Demeranville) Anderson. She grew up in Park Ridge, graduating from Maine Township High School and the University of Wisconsin in Madison, WI. Marge married Charles (Chuck) Elliot in December of 1959, a fellow Wisconsin graduate, and together they established their home in Rockford.

Marge was a community volunteer and in business ventures while her children, Steven (Steve) and Sharon, were growing up. She was active in the Rockford Dance Company, Children’s Home and Aid Society and the libraries at Hallstrom and Brookview schools. She was a member of Junior League of Rockford, Rockford Garden Club and two book clubs. She became a Realtor and later a Real Estate appraiser, progressing to owning her own firm. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, reading, textile arts and most of all, loved spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her loving husband of almost 64 years, Chuck; her daughter, Sharon (Jay) Colloton of Schaumburg; her daughter-in-law, Kristin Elliot; her grandchildren, Jimmy (Clare) Colloton, Leslie Colloton, Paige Elliot and Emma Elliot; her great- grandchildren, James, Jack and Ellie Colloton; her brother, Marshall (Dru) Anderson. Predeceased by her son, Steven.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon on Monday, November 27, 2023, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Rockford. A visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service on Monday at the funeral home. This donation to United Way of Rock River Valley will go to their United for Literacy program.
