Marjorie Mae Finley

Marjorie Mae Finley, died September 3, 2021. She was born July 3, 1923 in Burritt Township to Ethel and James Alexander. She grew up on the farm that is now Edwards Apple West.
Marjorie married David Kintz on November 17, 1945 and moved to Richland Center, Wisconsin where her two daughters were born. When David passed away on November 23, 1951, she moved back to Rockford. Marjorie married William “Bill” Finley on October 3, 1953. They were married 57 years before he passed away. Bill and Marge loved to travel and especially enjoyed traveling to Ireland. They also loved participating every year in the Irish Marching Society Parade and visiting family in Wisconsin. Marjorie retired from Tester Chemical after working for over 30 years packing paint and glue. Marjorie was a very neat person who loved to clean. She had a green thumb and could make any plant grow. She loved flowers but especially loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a very strong woman and is going to be greatly missed.
She is survived by her daughters, Linda (Gene) Stimart of Belvidere, Illinois, and Karen (Robert) Chavez of Albuquerque, New Mexico; three grandsons Phillip (Kathy) Clausen of Machesney Park, Illinois, David (Patience) Alexander of Lawrenceville, Georgia, and Ian Chalmers of Taos, New Mexico; three great grandsons and one great granddaughter. She is predeceased by her husband David and husband Bill; son in law Bruce Clausen; her parents Ethel and James; her siblings Russell Alexander, Mary Lou Lee and Ruby Martin.
Funeral Services for Marjorie will take place on Monday, September 13, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 3910 North Rockton Avenue, Rockford, Illinois 61103. Visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Marjorie will be buried next to Bill in Burritt Township Cemetery in Cemetery Road in Winnebago, Illinois.
