Marion Sicotte, 79, of Rockford, was called to her heavenly home Wednesday, January 29, 2014. Born August 1, 1934, in Rockford, the daughter of Carlo and Josephine (Fedeli) Cazzaniga. Marion attended St. Patrick Grade School and Muldoon Catholic High School graduating in 1952. She attended Sienna Heights College in Adrian, MI and then graduated from the X-Ray Technician School at Rockford Memorial Hospital. Marion married Lucien "Lon" Sicotte in Rockford on May 17, 1958 and they enjoyed 50 years of marriage until his death in 2009. She was a very devoted wife and mother and enjoyed hosting get-togethers with family and friends. Marion worked as the office manager at Rockford Neurological Consultants for 29 years, retiring November 14, 2003. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, where she was a former member of the choir and taught CCD. Her faith was always a strong part of her life.
Marion was loved and will be missed by her son, Charles "Chuck" (Shaun) Sicotte of Rockford, and daughters, Merri Jo (David) Guggenbuehl, LaCrosse, WI, and Anne (John) Ciaccio, Rockford; grandchildren, Nicole and Zachary Sicotte, Andrea, Nicholas and Michael Guggenbuehl, and Jacob and Brianna Ciaccio; twin sister and best friend, Mary Ann Pettenger, Rockford; brother, Charles (Mary) Cazzaniga, St. Louis, MO; many nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Diane Didier, Jeannine (Stephen) King, Jean Sicotte from Rockford; brothers-in-law, Albert (Marlyn) Sicotte, Rockford and Paul Sicotte, Ocala, FL. Predeceased by her parents; husband; his parents, Lucien and Lydia Sicotte; granddaughter, Christina Sicotte; brothers-in-law, Robert Pettenger, Larry Didier, George Sicotte, and sister-in-law, Joanne Sicotte. Marion's family would like to thank Aunt Meme for her endless devotion, the staff at Sienna on Brendenwood, and her caregiver, Regina for their kind and compassionate care. Thanks also to her many friends who provided support and companionship.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 6, 2014, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 4401 Highcrest Rd. Rockford. Inurnment will be in St. Mary/St. James Catholic Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 5, 2014, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. with the Rosary recited at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will also be from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. on Thursday, at the church.
