Marion M. Milas

Marion M. Milas, 87, Rockford, died Tuesday, March 18, 2014 in Rockford Memorial Hospital. Born January 13, 1927 in Elk Grove Township, IL, daughter of William L. and Mary C. (Rodewald) Mueller. Married Raymond H. Milas in Mt. Prospect on October 13, 1951. He died March 9, 2001.Rockford resident since 1997 coming here from Zion. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. She had previously been employed by Robert Hall and the Grays Lake and Waukeegan newspapers. Marion always had an infectious laugh. She enjoyed being with her friends and loved going to Bible studies at her church. She could tell wonderful stories about the "old days" and her family learned much about their history from those times.

Survivors include her son, Rick (Martha) Milas, Champaign; daughters, Melodee (John) Rearden, Jr., Rockford and Agatha (Frank) Forest, Lake Villa; grandchildren, Nora, John, Nathan, Laura, Marius, Maxwell and Macrina; numerous nieces and nephews and special friends, Ethel Sorensen, Marge Maynard, Joan Szymanski and Peggy Sigmeier. Also predeceased by her parents and her brothers, Walter, Irwin, William, Melvin, Emory and Norbert.

Funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 21, 2014 in St. Paul Lutheran Church, 600 N. Horsman with Rev. Frank Ciprys officiating. Visitation from 9:00 a.m. until time of the service at the church. Burial in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Arlington Heights. Memorials may be made to the family. Arrangements were completed by Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd.
