Marilyn J. Sue Montana, 70, Rockford, died 11:50 p.m. Thursday, May 21, 2009 in her home. Born August 2, 1938 in Rockford, daughter of Louis and Dorothy Cuttings Konitski. Married John S. Montana on July 9, 1955. She was always a hard worker, both in her home and in the work world. Through the years she had been employed at several places, including Rockford Products, Anderson Packaging and Sundstrand Corp, ending her professional career at Haldex. Sue was a vibrant personality who loved gardening and bargain shopping. She was completely devoted to all of her babies who she loved and nurtured and took on their hurts and pain. Survivors include her loving husband, John; daughters, Melanie (Stephen) Benney, Rockford and Marie (Don) Ciardullo, Phoenix; grandchildren, Austin Gille, Alyssa (Danny Flores) Gille-Flores and Sophia Ciardullo; great-granddaughter, Bella Flores and great-grandson, Dawson Flores. Also survived by her brothers, Eugene (Margaret) Konitski and Gerald (Nancy) Konitski; numerous nieces and nephews and special sister-in-law and companion, Barb Montana. Predeceased by her parents and brother, Robert Konitski. The Montana family would like to thank Muriel for the wonderful care given to Sue, and to Johns sister, Rose Sandoval, for the loyal, caring dedication she has given to both Sue and John. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 28, 2009 in St. James Catholic Church with Rev. Dean Russell officiating. Entombment in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 pm on Wednesday in Fitzgerald Funeral Home amp; Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to the family. Condolences and memories can be shared at www.fitzgeraldfh.com.
