Marilyn Agnes Snyder, 84, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 20, 2021, with her family by her side. Born in Cary, Illinois on July 23, 1937 daughter to Carl and Agnes (Branner) Krenz, she married Arlyn, the love of her life, on June 15, 1957 in Cary, Illinois. Their journey began when they met at the Rockford School of Business. Throughout her life Marilyn was active in Scouts, St. Bernadette Parish, and Holiday Rambler Recreational Travel Club. Marilyn and her husband enjoyed their 30+ years of retirement. She quickly made new friendships as they traveled to many places including Alaska, Newfoundland, Maine, and Florida as well as many places in between. Marilyn was a proud 30 year survivor of breast cancer. She will be remembered for her devotion to her family and her faith in the Lord. Marilyn’s loving legacy will be carried on by her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed family camping trips, singing, crafting, and sewing. Marilyn’s daughters cherish seeing the doll clothes she created for her grandchildren now being treasured by her great grandchildren. The family will be forever grateful to the loving caregivers at Highview in the Woodlands.
She will be missed by those who loved her most, her husband of 64 years, Edward Arlyn; her children Jerry (Sandy) Snyder, Kevin Snyder, Roxanne (Mark) Lund, Penny (John) Yurkew; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; four siblings Patsy (Gerry) Boetsch, Carol (Neal) Donner, Donald Krenz, and David (Sandy) Krenz. She was predeceased by her parents, one great-grandchild and sister-in-law Sandy Krenz.
A celebration of Marilyn’s life will take place on Thursday, August 26th, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 3910 N. Rockton Road, Rockford, Illinois 61103. Entombment at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Winnebago, Illinois.
