Marie V. Gagliano, 94, Rockford, passed away on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at Fairhaven Christian Retirement Home. She was born October 24, 1929, in Rockford, the daughter of Samuel and Catherine (Tumminello) Gullotto. Marie married Joseph Gagliano, in Rockford, on April 24, 1948. He passed away in Rockford on October 1, 2002. She was an original employee of Union Hall in Rockford where she worked in the jewelry department for many years until her retirement. Marie is a member of Holy Family Catholic Church where she and Joseph were Eucharistic Ministers delivering homebound Communion to the members. The family would like to thank St. Croix Hospice and Fairhaven Christian Retirement Home for their kind and compassionate care.
Survived by her sons, Tony (Britta Higgins) Gagliano of Scottsdale, AZ, Sam (Pam) Gagliano of McHenry and Joseph (Brenda Juhlin) Gagliano of Rockford; her grandchildren, Paul (Sara) Gagliano, Morgan (Jeff) Salvatore, Taylor (Mike) Koester and John (Laura) Gagliano; her great-grandchildren, Brielle and Quinn Salvatore, Hannah and Brooklyn Koester, and Diana Gagliano. Predeceased by her husband, Joseph, her parents, and 4 sisters, Anna Fiorello, Nancy Vince, Jennie Stanfa and Lil Cacciapaglia.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 A.M. Thursday, September 5, 2024, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 4401 Highcrest Rd. Rockford, IL with Reverend Phillip Kaim officiating. Entombment at Calvary Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation will be held from 9:30 A.M. until the time of Mass on Thursday at the church.
