Marie A. Harris

Marie A. Harris, 75, of Rockford, went home on Monday, October 5, 2015. She was born on September 16, 1940 in Athens, Alabama; to her parents Gilbert White and Dorothy Baity. Marie was married to William Harris, and they enjoyed many wonderful years together until William’s passing in 2004. She worked as head cook at Warner Lambert for several years preparing meals. Marie will always be remembered for her love for her family. She was a devoted Mother and Grandmother and we will miss her deeply and always remember the love that she gave to us.
Marie is survived by her children, Thaddeus (Teresa) Harris, Tony Wiley, Marla (Carlos) Johnson, Dorothy (Lee) Forney, Ronald (Malai) Harris, Tonya Riley, Ricky (Lisa) Harris; grandchildren, Tenika (Earl) Harris-Morris, Latasha Harris, Shontrece (Jermaine) Woodfork, Carlos Johnson Jr., Quacy Riley, Terrance Davis, Dishon Cox, Ronald Harris II, Nina (Donald) George, Reka Harris, Latrese Catlin, Christopher (Andrea) Riley, Thaddeus Harris II, Destiny Riley, and Lemark Moore; 29 great grandchildren; siblings, Betty (Ronald) Hamlin, Londoria (Lee) Grubbs, William Wiley, Malcolm (Dene) Wiley, Martha McKenzie, and Lecie Benford.
She is predeceased by her husband, her parents; and two brothers, Marion and Valthesus Wiley.
Funeral service will be 1:00 PM on Friday, October 9, 2015; at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 1860 S. Mulford Rd., Rockford, IL, 61108, with burial to follow at Cedar Bluff Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until time of service on Friday.
