Maria Luisa Macias, 70, Rockford, passed away on Monday, May 28, 2012, in her home surrounded by her family. She was born February 21, 1942, in Mexico, the daughter of Celedonio Fernandez Ariza and Doretea Gallegos Ibarra. She married Bartolo Macias in Guadalajara, Mexico on May 11, 1967. Maria Luisa worked at Greenlee Textron for 30 years, retiring in 2005. She attended Holy Family Catholic Church. Maria Luisa also was a seamstress for Castronovos Bridal Shop and Davids Bridal for many years. She also made custom curtains. Survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Bartolo; her daughters, Martha (Sean) Kurtz of Elburn and Laura (Gil) Pena of Rockford; grandsons, Cruz and Benjamin Pena and stepgranddaughters, Evelyn and Ashlyn Kurtz; 6 brothers and 2 sisters; numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, 1 sister and 2 brothers. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 am, Saturday, June 2, 2012, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 4401 Highcrest Rd. Private burial at later date.
