Maria E. Medina

Maria Esther Medina, 77, of Rockford died Saturday, Dec. 26, 2015 at SwedishAmerican Hospital. Born March 25, 1938 in Mexico, the daughter of Antonino and Ma Refugio (Martinez) Montoya. Married her loving husband, Estevan Medina and together they had 6 beautiful children. Maria loved to work on her rose garden, take care of her birds, watch soccer and truly enjoyed being surrounded by her family. She was always fond of helping children and was very generous to them all the time. She is survived by her husband, Estevan; her children; J. Santos (Alicia) Medina, Jose (Maria E.) Medina; Sara (Margarito Flores) Medina; Mario (Lorena) Medina; Carlos (Milagros) Medina and Maria Denny Medina; grandchildren, Laura, Jonathan, Fabiola, Karina, Jacob, Mario Jr., Estevan, Christian, Carlos Jr., Zoe and Marina Celeste; numerous brothers, sister, nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2015 at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Interment will be held in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation on Tuesday, Dec. 29 from 5-8 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd.
