Maria Aguilar Ortiz

Maria Aguilar Ortiz, 78, Rockford, passed away on Sunday, August 26, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 9, 1934 in Torreon, Mexico; the daughter of Acencion and Maria (Lopez) Aguilar. Maria married Roman Ortiz in Sabinas Mexico on March 4, 1956. In 1959 they came to Rockford. Maria was a beloved wife and a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She will be truly missed by all who loved her and by those who knew her. In her free time Maria enjoyed traveling and cooking.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years of marriage, Roman Ortiz; sons, Juan (Diane) Ortiz, Joseph Jose (Cheryl) Ortiz, Salvador Ortiz, Oscar (Karla) Aguilar Ortiz, Robert Lee Ortiz and Jesse Lori Ortiz; brothers, Fernando Aguilar and Jose Guadalupe Aguilar; sisters, Socorro Aguilar and Luzinda Vasquez; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Predeceased by parents and five brothers.

Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 1, 2012 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Ave. Reverend Dr. Kenneth R. Board officiating. Entombment in Willwood Burial Park. Visitation will be on Friday, August 31, 2012 from 5:00 8:00 p.m. with recitation of the Rosary at 7:30. Visitation will also be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.nbsp;nbsp; Memorial donations may be made to the family.
