Maria A. Winters

Maria A. Winters, 70, of Cherry Valley, passed away October 21, 2018 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. Born January 10, 1948 to Albert C. and Anna V. (DiPiazza) Winters in Rockford, IL. Moved to Cherry Valley, Il in 1982. Maria retired from the State of Illinois Department of Corrections, Winnebago Community Correctional Center in 1998. Volunteered at Swedish American Hospital 2001-2012, New American Theater, Rockford Community Concert, and AARP Volunteer Tax Services for the Elderly. Maria enjoyed spending time with family, friends and her two cats Bosca and Bella.
Survivors include brother, Albert (Gloria) Winters; nephew Jeff (Robin) Winters, nieces Tracey (Jim) Parker and Mariann (Chris) Webster, great nephews Eric (Carrie) Wolfe, Christopher, Aaron and Nicholas Winters; great nieces Mara and Ada Parker, cousins Donna (Ed) Froeliger, Joe (June) DiPiazza, Kelly Froeliger (Goddaughter), and Scott (Kathy) Froeliger and their children Rosemary and Sarah Froeliger; great great niece Lucy Wolfe.
Mass will be 11 a.m. Monday, October 29, 2018 at St. Rita Catholic Church, 6254 Valley Knoll Dr, Rockford, IL 61109. Visitation from 10 a.m to 10:45 a.m. Burial at Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery.
