Margaret "Peg" C. Goral

Margaret “Peg” Lonergan Goral, age 90 passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2024. Margaret was born January 16, 1934, in Rockford, the daughter of James and Anne Lonergan.

Margaret was a 1951 graduate of West High School, and married Gerald “Jerry” Goral in 1955 and “Jerry & Peg” started their new family, and their love story would last 67 years.

Margaret was a very active member of Holy Family Church Women’s Guild, The Irish Marching Society, and the Rockford Garden Society.

She was grateful for the love and support of her family and will be missed by those who loved her most. Her children, John Goral (Kathy), David Goral (Mari Louise), along with her many loving grandchildren, Joseph (Annie), Peter (Heather), Libby Leatherby (Mitch), Patrick (Brianna), Sean, and Grace Soltys (Brent), and ten great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Margaret was predeceased by her husband Jerry, daughter Mary Anne Goral, and her six brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be held Friday, December 27, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 4401 Highcrest Rd. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Burial at St. Mary / St. James Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago.
