Margaret "Peg" A. Magan

Margaret (Peg) Magan of Rockford, IL passed away on March 13, 2022. She was born on August 2, 1940 in Philadelphia, PA to William Jr and Marie (Waugh) Gilmore. Peg married Thomas Magan, Jr. on November 27, 1965. They were married 55 years.
Peg had a special place in her heart for children and the value of early education. She loved her career choice as an Early Childhood Educator in both Bartlett, IL and Elgin, IL. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She especially treasured the caregivers of Home Instead who shared of themselves and forged relationships that made each and every day a blessing.

Peg is survived by her children Patricia (Joseph) Evans, Pamela (Scott) Lunsford and Thomas (Kathy) Magan, grandchildren Nicholas (Samantha) Evans, Matthew Evans, Andrew (Teryn Kline) Lunsford, Ryan Lunsford, Annie Magan, Patrick Magan and Holly Magan, siblings Mary Ellen Gilmore, William (Lynda) Gilmore and Michael (Anna) Gilmore as well as nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband Thomas Magan, Jr.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 18 10:00 AM at St. Rita Catholic Church with visitation one hour prior. Burial will be in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Memorials can be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
