Margaret M. Murphy

Margaret M. Murphy, 94, of Loves Park, IL passed away on Monday, July 26, 2021.

Margaret was born in Rockford on November 21, 1926, daughter of William and Margaret (Mullarky) Murphy. She married John J. Murphy Jr. in Rockford on October 7, 1947. John passed away October 7, 2005. Margaret was a longtime member of St. Patrick Catholic Church for nearly 35 years. After moving to the east side of Rockford, she attended St. Rita Catholic Church and was most recently associated with St. Bridget Catholic Church through her family. She was a lover of all animals, especially horses and dogs. Most of all, Margaret cherished her time spent with family. She will be dearly missed.

Margaret is survived by her children, David (Charlotte) Murphy, Betty (Douglas) Miller, Ann Newman, Tom (Marleen) Murphy, Mike (Kristine) Murphy and Tim (Margariet) Murphy; daughter-in-law, Barb Murphy; 14 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents; husband, John Murphy Jr.; son, Jim Murphy and brothers, Bill and George Mahon.

Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, August 2, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass at St. Bridget Catholic Church, 600 Clifford Ave. Loves Park, IL 61111. Final resting place will be in Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Winnebago, IL.
