Margaret L. Amdur

Margaret L. Amdur, 90, of Rockford, passed away at home on Wednesday, March 9, 2022, surrounded by her family. She was born January 2, 1932 in Rockford, Illinois, the daughter of Clarence and Elsie (Salley) Corey. She married Charles Amdur on April 20, 1952 in Rockford, Illinois. She worked in sales for Montgomery Ward and Hanley Furniture. She enjoyed antique collecting, cooking, and baking. Margaret loved spending time with her family and planning for the holidays, she was the glue that held them together, and the heart of the family. She continuously put her children, grandchildren and many others before herself.
Margaret is survived by her children, Dennis (Sally) Amdur and Patricia “Pat” (Bruce) Johnson; grandchildren, Sara (Corey) Rowe, Corey (Donna) Amdur, Tricia (Darold) McDonald, Ashley (Ryan) Craig, Dustin (Becky) Johnson, Aaron (Lacey) Johnson, and Eric Johnson; great-grandchildren, Logan and Nolan Amdur, Trent and Navin McDonald, Vanessa and Layla Craig, Madilyn and Maddux Johnson, and Charlie and Ross Johnson; brother, Bill Corey; and sisters, Sharon Miller and Jean Borchers. She is predeceased by her parents, husband, Charlie, and siblings, Agnes Miller, Helen Diverdi, Sally Paris, Bob Corey, Raymond Corey, and Jay Corey.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, March 14, 2022 at 11:00 am, at Willwood Burial Park, 7000 W State Street, Rockford, Illinois 61102.
