Margaret A. Saporito

Margaret A. "Marge" Villani Saporito, 89, lifelong Rockford resident, died peacefully in her home, surrounded by her loving family, on Saturday, April 5, 2014. Born August 25, 1924, daughter of Contido and Adella (DeCori) Villani. Married John R. Saporito in Rockford on September 12, 1942. She owned her own beauty salon for 25 years, retiring in 1982. She was a devoted member of Holy Family Catholic Church where she was a volunteer on the funeral luncheon committee. Marge's priorities were always her faith, family and friends.

Survivors include her husband John; children, Barbara Hallstrom, Lucille Hines and John (Jody) Saporito all of Rockford; grandchildren, Dina, John (Beth), Gina, Anna, Joseph (Brynn), Matthew, Christine (Orin), Cip (Lora) and Vince; great-grandchildren, Abby, Robby, Carly, Sydney, Angelice, Mya, Antonio, Haley,Sadey Rose, Joel, Andrew and Guiliana Jo; sisters-in-law, Marie (Sam) Perrecone and Josephine Saporito; brother-in-law, Joseph Saporito and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by her parents, sisters, Jenny (David) Marsili, Rose (Dominic) Corrovossi and Clara (William) Ambrosia; brothers, Michael (Clara) Villani, John (Annette) Villani; son-in-law, Larry Hallstrom; sister-in-law, Mary Saporito; brother-in-law, Angelo Saporito, niece, Janet Saporito and nephew, Louie Saporito. The Saporito family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Ajaz Kahn, Dr. Michael Maloney and Dr. Thomas Dahlberg for the loving, compassionate care they extended to Marge.

Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, April 10, 2014 in Holy Family Catholic Church. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation from 4-6 p.m. Wednesday in Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
