Marcy C. Carey

Marceil “Marcy” Connie Carey, 56, of Rockford died Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at SwedishAmerican Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Born August 6, 1961 in Rochelle the daughter of Gene C. and Evelyn I. (Mellor) Dresser. Married her loving husband, John Carey, on June 23, 1995 in Rockford. Marcy graduated from the Alberto Cosmetology School in Rockford and was a hairdresser for several years and she later worked for UPS. Marcy was an avid gardener with a true green thumb; she was a talented cook and loved her time with family. She was fun and warm-hearted and loved to travel and ride on motorcycles. Her family and friends will miss her dearly. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to Sharon Carey for her never ending dedication and care to March and to the Doctors and Nurses at SwedishAmerican Hospital and Home Health for their time and compassionate care.

Survivors include her husband; mother; siblings, Marcia Strothoff, Steve (Dawn) Dresser, Marlene (Deryl) Carter and Stew (Sandy) Dresser; brothers and sisters-in-law; Jim (Mitzie) Carey, Tom (Cindy) Carey, Sharon Carey, Diane (Steve) Griffey and Janet Curry; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her father, brother-in-law, Scott and father/mother-in-law, Charles (Marilyn) Carey.
