Mahendra B. Parekh

Rockford- Mahendra Bhupatrai Parekh, 62, of Rockford passed away on Friday, April 24, 2009. Born September 23, 1946 in Junagadh, India to Bhupatrai and Vilasben Parekh. Married Rekha Sheth on January 19, 1975. He is survived by his wife, Rekha, son Aman (Pali) Parekh, daughter Twinkle (Sumish) Parikh, granddaughter, Anya and daughter Amisha (Sairam) Muthialu. He moved to the U.S. in 1970 and received his Masters in Mechanical Engineering from Brigham Young University. In 1974, he moved to Rockford, working at Hamilton Sundstrand for 35 years. He enjoyed bicycling, playing racquetball, tennis, chess and FreeCell. He was an avid reader who encouraged continual learning and respect for all religions. He lived each day with a positive and generous attitude. His beautiful wife will remember him as a devoted and religious husband, father and grandfather (Nanaji) who always thought about others before himself.
