Mae V. Schumacher

Mae V. Schumacher, 96, of Rockford, IL passed away Sunday, May 16, 2021. She was born May 16, 1925 in Galena, IL the daughter of Edward and Lucille (Mougin) Stafford. Mae grew up on the Stafford Farm in Irish Hollow. The farm is where she met the love of her life, Carlyle Schumacher. They married in 1958 and later moved to Rockford where they raised their son, Randy. Mae was a simple woman who devoted herself to her family. She enjoyed colleting things, sewing and doing crafts. She and Carlyle also enjoyed dancing in their younger years. Mae was an animal lover, especially cats. Mae will be missed by those who knew and loved her.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Randy (Sue) Schumacher; grandson, Ryan (Jenna) Schumacher; great grandchildren, Eli, Gabe and Sam Schumacher. Predeceased by her parents, Edward and Lucille; beloved husband, Carlyle; brothers, Robert Stafford and Lawrence Stafford; sister, Hattie Stafford. The family would like to thank the staff at Alden Debes for their loving care and unwavering compassion shown to Mae and Carlyle.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 20, 2021 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N.
