Madalene C. Hudzinski

Madalene Carol Hudzinski, 79, of Rockford, IL passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2022.

Madalene was born in Rockford, IL on March 18, 1943, daughter of John and Antionette (Vince) Anastasi. She graduated from West High School, Class of 1961. Madalene married John Hudzinski on April 24, 1965, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Rockford. She was a proud member of the Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps, VFW Post 342 from 1956 – 64 and was one of the original Phantomette’s. Madalene was a lifetime member of St. Rita Catholic Church where she was president of the altar and rosary group and organized and loved playing bingo. She was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and a member of the Illinois Packer Backers where she took care of novelties and coordinated their bus trips. Madalene enjoyed fishing, camping and traveling. Her and her family were seasonal campers at Grand Valley Campground in Wisconsin for over 30 years. Most of all, Madalene cherished her time spent making memories with family, especially her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be missed most for her fun, loving and caring personality as well as her kind heart and great sense of humor.

Those left to honor Madalene’s memory include her husband, John Hudzinski; children, Michael (Tina) Hudzinski and Tina (Benjamin) Hudzinski-Newell; grandchildren, John (Cassie), Sydney, Garrett, Ashley and Hannah Hudzinski; great-grandchildren, Michael and Mason Hudzinski; sister, Josephine (Charles) Larson; aunt, Dorothy Hand; sisters-in-law, Beverly Sullivan (Jim Robinson) and Ann Hudzinski; special friends, Jim (Diane) Gibson, Steve (Marilyn) Meyers and Carl (Betty) Try; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and cousins. Madalene is predeceased by her parents; daughter, Theresa Marie; brothers-in-law, David and James Hudzinski and parents-in-law, John (Eileen) Hudzinski.

Visitation will be held Friday, January 6, 2023, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Rockford, IL 61108. Rosary will follow the visitation at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be Saturday, January 7, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. at St. Rita Catholic Church, 6254 Valley Knoll Drive, Rockford, IL 61109.

Memorials may be made to the Hudzinski family to be established later.
