Lynn A. Stutsman

Lynn A. Stutsman, 69, of Cherry Valley, died on Monday, April 17, 2017.
She was born in Detroit, MI on April 23, 1947 to parents Pierce Jr. and Mary (Ferguson) Barker. Lynn married her husband Steven Stutsman on November 5, 1968 in Belvidere, Illinois. Lynn’s warmhearted nature drew her to the care and education of young children. She was instrumental in the formation of the Bell School Elementary and New Milford Elementary Kindergarten programs. After retiring from teaching, Lynn continued to care for young children in the Cherry Valley area. Lynn loved traveling, collecting different children's toys for her “kids”, spending time at their family lake home, and her time with her family. Lynn will always be remembered for her love and care for her family, as well as the many children’s lives she impacted over the years.

She is survived by her husband, Steven Stutsman; children, Steven “Chris” (Lori Westmoreland-Stutsman) Stutsman, Matthew Stutsman, Kari (Brandon) Gladson, and Cassie (Steven) Reed; grandchildren, Breanna and Madilynn Stutsman, Lillie and Maxton Reed, and Kaitlyn Gladson; sister-in-law, Dail Stutsman; siblings, Mary (John) Kohlmeier, Pierce (Rise) Barker III, Susan Barker, Anne (William Everett) Adams Everett, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Lynn is predeceased by her parents.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 24, 2017, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 1860 S. Mulford Rd., Rockford, IL, 61108 with Rev. Dr. William Ward officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until time of service on Monday. Burial to follow at Arlington Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children's Hospital.
