Lyle G. Park, 81, of Rockford passed away Sunday, February 1, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. Lyle was born July 6, 1933 in Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin the son of George and Mae (Bacon) Park.
He joined the Airforce and served as a Private First Class in the Korean Conflict from 1950-1954.
Returning home he married Nancy Hintz on June 23, 1956, in Fond Du Lac. Lyle became an auto mechanic where he opened and operated APCO Service Station, later he work for Penny Pincher, and Paul's Garage. Lyle was an avid Green Bay Packer fan. He especially loved spending time with his family, fishing and being outdoors. Always accompanied by his faithful dog Bailey. He also volunteered at Rockford Memorial Hospital and was involved with Vet Roll.
Lyle is survived by his loving wife, Nancy; children, Laurie Nolan and special friend Dave, Larry (Deborah) Park, Lisa (David) Beck, Linda Walsh and Brad Walsh, and Lanette (Brian) McClernon; grandchildren, Tara, Morgen, Daniel, David, Evan, Elliot, Erin, Colin, Shawn (Sara); Great grandchildren, Raegan, Catelyn, Conner and Trey; special niece and nephew, Leah and Fritz. Predeceased by his parents, two sisters, son-in-law Tim and grandchild Ryan.
Memorial Service, Thursday, February 5, 2015, 2:00 pm at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Riverside Chapel, with the Rev. Randy Young officiating. Visitation from 12 pm until time of service.
