Lyle E. Blanchard

Lyle E. Blanchard, 65 of Rockford, died Monday, August 26, 2013 in his home. Born June 22, 1948 in Rockford the son of Lyle E. and Dorothy (Machek) Blanchard, Sr. Served during Vietnam in the 101st Army Airborne Infantry as a medic and was part of the TET Offensive from 1969-1970. Married his wife Leslie E. Johnson on September 28, 1991 in Rockford. Worked for over 20 years at Bergstrom Inc. as a welder, retiring in 2012. Survivors include his wife Leslie of Rockford; brother, Barry Gierloff of Rockford and sisters, Linda (Randy) Schott of Rockford an Judy Jenkins of FL. He was preceded in death by his parents.
At Lyle's request, there will be no services. Cremation rites accorded by Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel.
