Lucille M. Benson-Jenson, 95, of Rockford, passed away Monday, December 31, 2018. She was born January 1, 1923, in Metamora, Illinois the daughter of Magdalena (Nauman) and Frank Studer. Lucille grew up in Sherburn, Minnesota and later moved to Rockford. She married Oster Benson and had two children, he preceded her in death. She later married Ken Jenson, he also preceded her in death. Lucille was a loving mother with a strong will. She was deeply religious and believed strongly in her daily prayers. She enjoyed reading, traveling throughout the United States and cooking. Lucille’s last words to her family were “I love you”. She will be forever remembered by those she touched as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend.
Survived by her children, Faith A. Benson and Rick (Judie) Benson; grandchildren, Jill (Eric) Schwendeman, Juli (Brett) Tainter and Molly Benson; great grandchildren, Jacob and Ryan Schwendeman, Anna & Adam Tainter and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husbands, Oster Benson and Kenneth Jenson and her 3 sisters. The family would like to thank the caring and compassionate staff at Mercy Health Hospice and Heritage Woods of Belvidere.
Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 12, 2019 at St. James catholic Church, 428 N. Second St. Rockford, IL 61107. Visitation will be held prior to Mass from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for a cause to be determined.
