LUCIA M POMPEO-65 of Palm Harbor Florida passed away on January 15, 2014 on Wednesday, after a sudden illness she was born August 12, 1948 in Ferentino, Italy, the loving daughter of Luigi and Vincenza "Coppotelli" Pompeo. She graduated from East High School in 1966 and Alberto's School of Cosmetology. Lucia " Lucy" lived in Rockford Illinois and Palm Harbor Florida. Lucy married Gary Vanstone in 1969 in Rockford. She enjoyed listening to music and collecting artwork, Lucy loved her family dearly and enjoyed spending time and cooking for them. She traveled to Italy to spend time with her family and friends and also held dear her lifelong friendships in Rockford Illinois. Survived by daughter Tasha Vanstone, brothers Mario Pompeo and Ambrose Pompeo both of Florida, Mike Pompeo of Illinois, nephew Mario Pompeo, nieces Tricia, Erica Pompeo, and Angela, all of Illinois, great niece and nephews plus numerous relatives and friends in Italy and the United States. Predeceased by father and mother and (infant sister).

Funeral Mass Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at 10 am at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. Visitation 9 am until time of prayer at 9:45 am. Interment in Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Winnebago.
