Louise R. Bailey, 95 of Rockford died peacefully on Monday, June 18, 2007 in her home. Louise was born July 28, 1911 in DeKalb, IL, the daughter of Bert and Anna Racey. She graduated from Northern Illinois Teachers College in 1933. She taught school in Oak Park, IL until she married H.V. (Pat) Bailey, on Sept. 25, 1937, in DeKalb, IL. Pat and Louise lived and raised their two daughters in Rockford. While living in Rockford, Louise was a long time member of the Second Congregational Church where she was involved in many of their volunteer activities. Pat and Louise retired to Hot Springs Village, Arkansas in 1974. Louise returned to Rockford in 1995 where she spent the next 12 years. Louise enjoyed cooking, entertaining, sewing, reading, bridge, her grandchildren, her great grandchildren and her many friends. Survivors include her children Jean T.J. French of Rockford and Ann Blair of DeKalb; grandchildren Emily (David) Deisher of Aurora, Matthew Blair of Winterhaven, FL; and Christopher (Sara) French of Berkley, CA. Great- grandchildren Sam Deisher, Ian Deisher and Adeline French. Louise was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sister Helen (Jack) Eddy and other family members. nbsp; The family would like to express their gratitude to Hospice Care of America and all of her dedicated caregivers; Sonny, Sara and Mandy. nbsp; Visitation will be Saturday, June 30, from 10- 11 am in the Second Congregational Church, 318 N. Church St., Rockford with the Rev. Mike Solberg officiating. Memorial service will begin at 11 am Saturday in the church. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to Hospice Care of America, 483 N. Mulford Rd., Rockford, IL 61107 or the Association of Research for Vision and Ophthalmology, 12300 Turnbrook Parkway, Suite 250, Rockville, MD 20850.
