Louis L. Melton

Louis L. Melton, 73, of Rockford, passed away on Friday, September 30, 2016. He was born on February 20, 1943, in Princeton, IL, the son of Herschel and Genevieve (Hooker) Melton. He served 23 years in the United States Army and then graduated from Western Illinois University. During his first tour of duty in Korea, Louis met his wife Sun Cha Kim. He was a wonderful husband, father, brother, and friend, and will be missed by all those who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Sun Cha; sons, Dan and John Melton; his brother Jim and wife Dodie, and his sister Lois Graham; and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents and brother in-law, Don Graham.
A visitation will be held on Friday, October 7, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Mulford Chapel. A graveside service will be held immediately following the visitation at Arlington Memorial Park. Express online condolences at www.fitzgeraldfh.com
