Loras R. Pottratz

Loras Reinhold Pottratz, 87 of Rockford (Formally of Pecatonica) died Thursday, March 21 at Rockfrod Memorial Hospital. Born March 18, 1926 in Iowa the son of Rienhold and Mildred (Ennen) Pottratz. A veteran of the United States Army serving in the Philippines during WW11. Married his loving wife Edna Leerhoff on August 29, 1963 in Freeport. Loras worked for the J.I. Case Company for 27 years. He retired from Rockford Memorial Hospital after 19 years of service. He and Edna were members of St. John Lutheran Church in Pecatonica. Survivors include his wife, Edna; Son, Joseph(Kristine) Pottratz; Grand children Nathan (Kriss), Nicholas, and Morgan(Dan) Pottratz and Christopher Diestelmeier. 3 Great Grandchildren and a sister, Ivanelle Liphart. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Candice Diestelmeier, and his brother Max Pottratz. Memorial service Thursday, March 28 at 11:00 a.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Riverside Chapel 3910 N. Rockton Ave. with Pastor Terry Theiss officiating.
