Lois L. Piper, 88, of Rockford, passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2016. Born March 24, 1928 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Frank & Lillian (Linder) DuGene. Graduated with a B.S. from Northeastern Illinois University. She married her true love of fifty-six years William Piper in Chicago, IL on September 4, 1950. During her life she worked in retail sales and also was a substitute teacher for many years. She was also the past president of the Women’s Club in Franklin Park. Lois enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, dining out with her family and friends. She loved making memories with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her husband, Bill, predeceased her on December 25, 2006. She lived the past eight years in Rockford coming from Franklin Park, IL. Friend of Bill W., and the residents and staff of Independence Village.
Survivors include children Trish (Michael) Gann, of Rockford and Jan (Tom Redes) Piper-Heckinger of Valrico, FL., grandchildren; Jennifer (Matt) Gann-Dudgeon, Lindsay (Chad) Gann-Paulson, Lauren (Tim) Lovett, and Kelly (Jeff) Hornick, great-grandchildren; Brodie, Liam and Quinn Gann-Dudgeon, and Lucy Paulson.
