Lois Josephine Mcdonald

Lois Josephine McDonald, 97, Rockford, died at 6:25 a.m. Sunday, May 3, 2009 in Alpine Fireside Health Center. Born March 9, 1912 in Granville, daughter of Otto and Sevilla Scherer. Married to Donald R. McDonald for many years. She had formerly been employed as a US Census Taker. Long time member of Second Congregational Church. She loved dolls and had a large doll collection. She also taught ceramics for many years. Josephine always had a pleasant smile and was a loving grandmother. Survivors include her sons, Terry (Jan) McDonald and Bryan (Sherry Lynn) McDonald; grandchildren, Nicholas (Cheryl) McDonald, Nathaniel McDonald ,Erin McDonald and great-grandson, Gavin McDonald. Predeceased by her parents; her husband, Donald, on March 30, 1999; brother Gaylord Scherer and sister Roberta Fridley. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2009 in Greenwood Cemetery with Rev. Joe Marek officiating.
