Lois G. Huber, 81, of Rockford, joined her loving husband of 58 years, Martin, on November 28th when she died peacefully in her sleep. Lois was born on September 23, 1931 in Chicago. She graduated from Waller High School. Lois married Martin L. Huber on October 2, 1954 in Chicago. She spent most of her life in Chicago, a city she loved. Marty and Lois were long time members of St. Pascal Catholic Church before moving to Rockford in 2006 to be closer to their son, Tom. Over the years Lois worked as a bank teller, bank document processer and in the back office of Butterick Patterns before retiring in 1993. Until the last few years, Lois was an avid bicyclist, riding at least weekly. Lois was a chocoholic and loved to garden. She and Marty enjoyed traveling and had visited all 50 states. They also were excellent dancers and enjoyed attending concerts and musicals. In later years, Lois enjoyed doing crossword puzzles. Lois was preceded in death by Marty on August 29, 2012. She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Huber and son, Thomas (Catherine) Huber; grandsons, Eric Huber and Adam Huber; and cousin, Michael (Barbara) Hufnus. Memorials can be given in Lois name to: Rockford Wind Ensemble, P.O. Box 983, Roscoe, IL 61073 Funeral services will be held at a later date in Chicago.
