Lois E. Stanley, 95, of Machesney Park, passed away at home on February 23, 2021.
Lois was born on November 15, 1925, in Rolfe, IA, the daughter of George and Hannah (Bangert) Johnson. She married James L. Stanley in Rolfe, IA on March 30, 1947, and they relocated to Rockford later that year. Lois was a homemaker and an active member of St Paul Lutheran Church and a member of its Ladies and Altar Guilds. In later life, she was a member of the ALPHA Group.
Lois is survived by her daughter, Janice (Dennis) Howell; grandsons, Kevin (Jenny) Howell and Scott (Mikhaele) Howell; great-granddaughters, Kenzie and Maddie Howell; bonus great-grandchildren, Drake, Morgan, Dawson and Dylan Renton and Stephanie Rhinesmith; sisters, Jane Simonson and Carol Schmidt; brother, Paul Johnson and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; James in 1989 and sisters, Maxine Claussen and Geraldine Zeman
A visitation will be held from 5:00 -7:00 p.m. on Monday, March 1, 2021 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory – Riverside Chapel, 3910 N Rockton Avenue, Rockford, IL 61103. The funeral service will be on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at St Paul Lutheran Church, 4881 Kilburn Avenue, Rockford, IL 61101, with burial to follow at Willwood Burial Park, 7000 W. State Street, Rockford, IL 61102. Memorials may be made to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date or to the St Paul’s Ladies Guild.
