Lois A. Girard, 68, Rockford, died at 7:51 p.m., Thursday, June 21, 2007 in OSF St. Anthony Medical Center.nbsp; Born June 12, 1939 in Dubuque, IA, daughter of Edmund and Odelia Jasman Gartner.nbsp; Graduated from Visitation Academy in Dubuque, IA.nbsp; Married James M. Girard in Dubuque on February 27, 1960.nbsp; Employed by Sears Corp. for 23 years.nbsp; Member of Holy Family Catholic Church where she was a member of the funeral luncheon committee and was an area representative.nbsp; She was also a volunteer for the Adoration Chapel and was a member of Catholic Womens League and the Womens Guild.nbsp; She was a loving caregiver to her mother for many years until her mothers death in 2006 and was a member of the caregivers support group.nbsp; Lois was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend.nbsp; She was a faith-filled, thoughtful woman who was totally committed to everything she did. She especially loved family gatherings and her family was the most important thing to her. nbsp; Survivors include her husband, James; children, Michael (Tammy) Girard, Boulder City, NV., Steven (Colleen) Girard, Rockford, Janet (Todd) Wood, Loves Park, Elizabeth (Dave) Phillips, Cherry Valley and Jonathan (Vikky) Girard, Peoria; grandchildren, James (Chelsea), Mary, Christopher, Christina, Benjamin, Robert, Nicholas, Michael, Allison, Emily, Parker, and Andrew.nbsp; Also survived by her great-grandchildren, Joseph, Isabelle and one more expected soon; brother, Roger (Darlene) Gartner, sister-in-law, Terri Gartner and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.nbsp; Predeceased by her parents and brother, James Gartner. nbsp; A funeral mass will be held at 11a.m. on Wednesday, June 27, 2007 in Holy Family Catholic Church with Msgr. Thomas E. Bales officiating.nbsp; Burial in Calvary Cemetery.nbsp; Visitation from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday in Fitzgerald Funeral Home amp; Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:30 p.m. A visitation will also be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of the mass at the church on Wednesday.nbsp; Memorials may be made to the family for the Lois A.
