Lloyd Marcus Kissick was two months and a week short of his 104th birthday when he was welcomed to God’s private world on May 29, 2021.
103 years young was a long time in establishing God’s grace. He died peacefully in his own bed in his own house that he built here in Rockford, Illinois back in 1955. Lloyd was born in Dover, Illinois on August 6, 1917. His wife of 66 years, at her time of death, was Cozette Frances Abel Kissick. She was born in Princeton, Illinois on December 13, 1915 and died on September 27, 2012 at the age of 96. The couple had two children, Sandra Marlene Kissick predeceased her parents. Lloyd Preston (Mike) Kissick survives to write about his parents. Before moving to Rockford, Mr. and Mrs. Kissick lived in Princeton where he built two homes and operated an amusement machine business named Central Amusement. Upon moving to Rockford, Mr. Kissick became a full time union carpenter for over 60 years. He built the home he died in as well as two other homes near Guilford High School. Upon Cozette’s death she and Mr. Kissick had been married 50 years. They are both missed.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 6 from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Road, Rockford, IL 61108 with a brief invocation by Darren Loeppky to follow. Mr. Kissick will be buried next to Cozette in Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 7th.
