Linda Sue Murray passed away on Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at Loyola University Hospital in Chicago.nbsp; Linda was born August 6, 1953 to Dr. D. Philip and Harriett K. Brooks in Grand Rapids, Michigan, moving with her family to Rockford in 1957. She graduated from Stoneleigh-Burnham Preparatory School in Greenfield, Mass. Linda worked for many years as a unit secretary in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Rockford Memorial Hospital then went on to earn her nursing degree from Rock Valley College in 2003. Her nursing career took her to OSF St. Anthony Medical Center where she worked on 3-East. Linda enjoyed cooking and reading, but most of all shenbsp;loved being in the company of family and good friends.nbsp; She was a loving and caring mother who had a very special relationship with her daughter that will forever be cherished.nbsp; Survivors include her daughter, Jennifer; mother, Harriett; sister, Ann (Doug) Logan; brother, Doug (Helen) Brooks; friend and former husband, Dennis Murray; nephews, James, Carter, Philip, Peter and William and her beloved dog, Lucy. Predeceased by her father.nbsp; Lindas familynbsp; deeply appreciates the loving care that was given to her by the staff of 3-East at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center and the staff at Loyola University Hospital.

A Memorial Service will be held at noon on Monday, May 3, 2010 in Fitzgerald Funeral Home amp; Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Ave. with Rev. William R. Wentink officiating.nbsp; Visitation from 11:00 a.m. until time of the service on Monday.nbsp; In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Crohns and Colitis Foundation, 386 Park Ave. South, 17 th Floor, New York, NY 10016 or visit ccfa.org.
