Linda Sue Crooks, 76, of Rockford passed away on Friday, April 22, 2022 at the home.
Born December 20, 1945 in Zanesville, Ohio, daughter of Ray and Jane (Covert) Ross. Married Richard Crooks on June 3, 1966. Survived by husband Richard, daughters Kelly Champion and Molly Crooks, granddaughter Jacey Nausner and sister Ellen Oliver, all of Rockford and grandson Zachary Champion of Joplin, MO. Predeceased by parents, aunts, uncles and cousins.
She graduated from Zanesville (Ohio) High School and Ohio University with a bachelor's degree in Education. She worked for 10 years as a department manager for Marshall Field and Company in Rockford and 26 years as an ESL and GED instructor for Rock Valley College. Her proudest family moments were with her children and grandchildren.
Linda was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church for 46 years.
Donations may be made to St. Mark Lutheran Church or Northern Illinois Hospice.
Visitation Thursday, April 28 from 4:30 - 6:30 pm and Friday, April 29 from 10:00 - 10:45 am. Memorial service at 11:00 am on Friday. All services will be held at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 675 N Mulford Rd. Rockford, IL 61107. Private burial will conclude in Scandinavian Cemetery.
