Linda Joy Parker, 67, of Rockford, loving Mother and MorMor, passed away due to a short illness of ovarian cancer. She was born on January 28, 1955, in Rockford, the daughter of Glenn and Joyce Johnson. She graduated from Guilford High School, class of 1973. She worked as the office manager for Bethesda Covenant Church, where she was also a member. Linda also worked for the YMCA of Rock River Valley and the American Red Cross in Rockford. She loved spending time with her family and friends.
Linda is survived by her children, Anna (Paul) Karvelius and Nathan (Suzanne) Parker; grandchildren, Parker Karvelius, Maxwell Parker, and Finley Parker; brothers, Gary (Fran) Johnson, Dean (Darlene) Johnson, Scott (Cindy) Johnson, and Gregg (Carol) Johnson; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, sister-in-laws, and brother-in-laws.
A Swedish Fika will take place on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, from 9:00 – 10:30 am at Bethesda Covenant Church, 2101 E. State Street, Rockford 61104. A celebration of life service will follow starting at 10:30 am. Fika is a Swedish tradition which means a moment to slow down and appreciate the good things in life. “Coffee with friends”.
