Linda C. Strahorn

Linda C. Strahorn, 66, of Rockford passed away Tuesday, August 7, 2018. Born April 2, 1952, in Whitehall, Illinois, the daughter of Russell and Pauline (Smock) Gardner.

Linda was the loving mother of Kristen (Shannon) Eidson; proud grandmother of Timothy Strahorn, and Miles, Declan and Margot Eidson; sister to Gordon Gardner, Jerry (Nancy) Gardner and Bill Gardner; and most treasured friend of Nancy (Steve) Moore. She is predeceased by her parents, son, Timothy and brother, Gene.

Linda loved spending time with her family and friends, but especially her grandchildren, who lovingly refer to her as "Original Bama." At each visit she would bring them small gifts and treats, and sing her favorite song, Little Goldie Goldfish. Linda worked in banking and lending for most of her career. Her decisions and guidance helped many people obtain their home loans. She will be remembered by all for her generosity, warmth and kindness.

The family is grateful for the skilled and compassionate care Linda received during her stays at Swedish American Hospital. Memorial service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, August 13, 2018 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Road.
