Linda Ann Young

Linda Ann Young, 74, Machesney Park, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 25, 2022, with her family by her side. She was born December 20, 1947, in South Beloit, the daughter of James and Elaine (Allen) Martingilio. Linda earned her Bachelor’s degree from Northern Illinois University. She married Gerald “Jerry” Young in Rockton on January 27, 1973. Linda taught typing and later computer science at Rockford East High School for many years until her retirement. She was an avid reader and enjoyed sewing, shopping, and going to lunch with her friends.
Survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Jerry; her son, Marc; her brother, Jim (Marilyn) Martingilio; her sister, Sandy (Bob) Eggleston and her cousin, Karen (Joe) Crisman. Predeceased by her parents.
