Lillian Monson

Lillian Marie Monson, 86, died peacefully on August 1, 2014. Born March 2, 1928 in Sublette, Illinois, Lillian was the daughter of Henry and Sadie (Schamberger) Roemmich. On February 7, 1954 Lillian married Melvin Roy Monson, and they had four children. Lillian's greatest joy was spending time with her family as well as playing cards, gardening, sewing, reading, traveling, and playing the piano. Lillian was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin, and is survived by her children Wanda (Rick) Nelson, Donna (Steve) Monson, Leon Monson, Scott (Kelly) Monson, grandchildren Val (Adam) Nelson Lilly, Garrett (Jill) Nelson, Karin (Tom) Mason, Anna-Lisa (Jason Samens) Dahlgren, Aly Monson, Kaeleigh Monson, Braden Monson, and great-grandchildren Gwyn Nelson and Zooey Nelson Lilly. A private service will be held. Memorial donations can be made to Kreider Services Inc., 500 Anchor Road, Dixon, Illinois, 61021. Kreider is a non-profit organization helping developmentally disabled adults.
