Leroy F. Riley

LeRoy F. Riley, 81, Rockford, passed away Monday, November 26, 2012, at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center.nbsp; He was born on December 8, 1930, in Danbury, Iowa, the son of Frederick and Caroline (Kline) Riley.nbsp; He was a veteran of the Army serving in Alaska during the Korean Conflict.nbsp; LeRoy married Dorothy Matheny in Rockford on November 21, 1959.nbsp; He worked at Elco Tool for 40 years retiring in 1990. LeRoy was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church.nbsp; He enjoyed woodworking, traveling, working in his yard, but most of all, LeRoy loved to spend time with his family.nbsp; He was known by many for his dry sense of humor.nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;

Survived by his wife of 53 years, Dorothy; children, Jon (Alice) Riley of Farmington, Michigan, Beth (Eric) Rankin of Davis, and Michael (Stacy) Riley of Rockford; grandchildren, Patrick Riley, Tommy, Hayden, and Laura Rankin, Savannah, Sierra, and Sophie Riley; brothers, Jerry (Phyllis) Riley of Caledonia and Tom (Cheryl) Riley of Fort Wayne, Indiana; sister, Arlene (Delton) Barton of Rockford; many nieces and nephews.nbsp; Predeceased by his parents; brothers, Cecil and Wilbur Skeeter Riley; sisters, Virginia Wilcoxen, Darlene and Rosalie Riley.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 am, Friday, November 30, 2012, at St. Edward Catholic Church, 3004 11th St. with Reverend Lorenzo Gonzalez officiating. Entombment at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Thursday, November 29, 2012, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S.
