Leona V Pavlik

Leona V. Pavlik of Rockford, IL, left us on December 27th, 2017, at the age of 87, to reunite with her husband. She was born in Verdigre, Nebraska on October 13, 1930; daughter of George and Clara (Ondracek) Dufek. Leona married her loving husband, James Pavlik on November 14, 1953. She worked many years for Osco Drug before retiring in 1993. Leona and her husband James were faithful members of St. Bernadette Catholic Church and she belonged to the Woman of the Moose, Chapter 619. Leona was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Leona is survived by her sons, Gary (Cindy) Pavlik, Kevin (Karen) Pavlik; grandchildren David (Annie) Pavlik, John (Josie) Pavlik, Kylee (Joshua) Peterson and Nicholas Pavlik: great grandchildren Andrew, Mia, Matthew, Blake and Nora. Her brother and sister who survive her are Ed (Carmen) Dufek of Verdigre Nebraska and Helen Hanefeldt of Creighton Nebraska. She is predeceased by her parents, her husband, brothers William Dufek, Leonard Dufek and John Dufek; and sisters Marie Shefl and Clara Pavlik. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 in the chapel at Fairhaven Christian Retirement Center, 3470 N. Alpine Road, Rockford, IL 61114 with a visitation from 10:00 am until time of service. Burial will follow immediately to Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
