Leona E. Novak Gillette

Leona E. Novak Gillette 100 of Rockford passed away Saturday September 7, 2013 in Presence Cor Mariae Center. Leona was born April 11, 1913 in Wenona, IL, the daughter of Stanley and Anna Novak. She married Robert Gillette on January 8, 1966. Robert predeceased her on April 12, 1989. Leona worked as a hairdresser out her home for many years. She also worked for Weise's in Downtown Rockford. Member of Beth Eden Church United Methodist Church. Special thanks to the staff at Presence Cor Mariae Center and also the staff of OSF Hospice.

Loving mother of Richard Lucas. Survivors also include loving niece Joann (Bob) Baker. Two step-sons, Lowell (Lety) Gillette and Larry (Annette) Gillette. Special granddaughters, Corinna and Cristina and Sister-in-law Juanita Novak and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, husband, sisters Margaret Miles, Anne Baker and Martha Wilinski. Brothers, George, James, John, Art and Raymond.

Funeral service at 1pm Thursday September 12, 2013 in Fitzgerald Funeral Home 3910 N. Rockton Ave. with burial in Calvary Cemetery.
