Leo J. Pavlik, 96, of Rockford went home to the Lord’s loving arms on September 11, 2017.
Born October 31, 1920, in Verdel Nebraska, the son of Rudolph and Tillie (Dobrichovsky) Pavlik. Leo was a veteran serving in the United States Army during World War II as a 1st Sergeant. He married Julie Jackno on July 28, 1943 in Rockford. Leo worked for Nelson Knitting Company for 34 years as a department foreman. He was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church where he served as an usher for many years and was also a member of Rockford Moose Lodge #163.
He is lovingly survived by his wife Julie; siblings Elaine (Charlie) Johnson, Blanche Skokan, sister in-laws Jeanne Pavlik, Carolyn Pavlik- Larson, Leona Pavlik, Grace Pavlik, brother in-laws John Rudloff, Laddie Horacek and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, sisters Jane Horacek and Edith Rudloff, brothers Arvey, Louis, James, Edwin and Rudolph Pavlik Jr., brother in-law Frank Skokan and sister in-law Clara Pavlik.
Funeral mass will be at 10:00 am on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at St. Bernadette Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 9:15 am until 9:45 am on Tuesday in the parish hall. Burial in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Bernadette Catholic Church.
