Lee Weinbender

Leroy “Lee” J. Weinbender, 69 of Rockford, passed away Saturday, October 12, 2024, in Rockford, Illinois. Born in Chicago on August 24, 1955, to Leroy and Marie (Falcone) Weinbender. Lee married the love of his life, Karen, in 1989 and they would soon welcome two daughters into the world. He was assistant parts manager for Lou Bachrodt, where he worked many years before retirement. Lee was an avid sports fan, especially rooting for the Chicago Bears. Above all else, he was a family man; carrying on family traditions was very important to him. His heart became full when his only granddaughter was born, with whom he held a special bond with. Known for his dad jokes, gardening skills, and overall love of nature, Lee will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Karen; children Melissa Weinbender and Lindsey Weinbender; granddaughter, Isabella Weinbender; brothers, Emil (Lynn) Weinbender, Robert Weinbender, John Weinbender, Patrick (Mariana) Weinbender, Joseph Weinbender; and multiple nieces and nephews. Lee is preceded in death by his parents.

A visitation for Lee will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. through 3:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Rockford, IL, 61108.
