Rockford Lawrence T. Pumilia 87, died peacefully in his home after a short illness on Monday, March 2, 2009. Larry was born February 21, 1922, inRockford, Il. Larry was the son of Nicholas and Mary (Calcione) Pumilia. Larry was employed at Sundstrand Corporation retiring after 30 years of service. He was a member of the American Lombardi Society and the American Legion. Larry attended school inRockford and then served in the United States Army in World War II. Larry was honorably discharged on February 17, 1946. Upon returning from the military, Larry dedicated all of his time to caring for his mother. His interests were fishing and hunting. More recently, Larry enjoyed listening to radio talk shows, taking long drives and spending time with close family and friends. Larry is survived by family relatives including an uncle Sam (Sally) Calcione, Nephews Ronald (Joanna) Pumilia, Nicholas (Connie) Pumilia, Jean Pumilia, girlfriend Laura Henry and daughter Sandy and numerous great nieces and nephews. Larry is predeceased by his parents, two brothers Jasper and Sam Pumilia Sr., two sister in laws Arline and Pauline Pumilia and nephew Sam Pumilia Jr.

Funeral Service will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home amp; Crematory (Mulford Chapel) 1860 South Mulford Road.
